How to prepare

  1. 01

Prioritise depth of concepts and multi-concept problems over speed alone

  2. 02

Practise previous years' papers — the question style changes, the thinking does not

  3. 03

Train for unfamiliar question formats with partial marking

  4. 04

Protect mental energy: two back-to-back 3-hour papers need stamina practice

Typical preparation timeline

  1. Class 11

    Foundation

Rigorous concepts and higher-order problem solving

  2. Class 12 (Apr–Dec)

    Depth

    Advanced problem sets, multi-concept practice

  3. Jan–Apr

    JEE Main window

Qualify comfortably; keep Advanced practice alive

  4. Apr–May

    Final stretch

    Paper-1 + Paper-2 simulations, revision cycles
